For example, if you like The Office then your would like shows such as "I'm Alan Partridge" and "The Day Today / Brass Eye" as they are surreal spoofs on real life. Yes all TV is essentially that, but The Big Bang Theory, Scrubs and King of Queens exist to take people away from their real lives for a moment and just make them laugh! I personally LOVE a whole variety of shows from The Office (and The Office AAW) to Peep Show and even back to old classic 70's like Porridge and Open All Hours. But my favourite shows are Scrubs and The King of Queens and The Big Bang Theory has recently been added to that list. My point is, certain people enjoy certain things and broader sitcoms such as TBBT will attraxt a wider audience. Shows like The Office: AAW and Curb your enthusiasm only appeal to a certain type of audience.
